What is the stoic way to handle older parents with outdated attitudes and ever shrinking worlds as they begin to demand more and more. My experience is that many people, as they age, become concrete in their beliefs and increasingly self-focused, meaning boundaries are ignored and behavioural changes are rare. How do we fulfil our role as son or daughter, knowing they cannot manage without us, without compromising our other roles and relationships.
